Unofficial Official Houston-Imports Meet

It’s been a while since I last saw the name “Houston-Imports.” If you’re new to the car scene, you probably don’t know it. Before TikTok, Instagram, and all the other social channels people use to share car events, car forums were common, and Houston-Imports was a pretty big one. One of the first digital car spaces for many of us.

I saw a post about a car gathering in Katy as the unofficial official Houston-Imports meet, and I had to check it out for old times’ sake. I made the roughly hour-long drive to Portillo’s parking lot and found a few rides posted up in the back right at starting time. As the night went on, more rides showed up, along with some familiar faces.

I grew up around american muscle working on cars with my dad, but by the time they were ready to get me a car, they wanted something reliable and good on gas. Picked up my first civic and started modded years back which introduced to the import scene. I still have a soft spot for some old school american muscle.
