Cypress Cars & Coffee May 2026

Waking up to good weather for a car gathering, what more could you ask for? I grabbed my gear and headed out to Cypress to join the Cypress Cars & Coffee event held at Fairfield Church parking lot, arriving a few minutes before it started. A few more minutes later… things could have been very different.

I grabbed my camera, stepped out of the car, and snapped a photo of one of the nearby rides… within seconds, I heard a loud noise, followed by a crowd of spectators rushing into the street just in front of the entrance. Thankfully, the driver wasn’t involved in the event, but he did hit two of the rides that were being set up for display. A beautiful GTR and McLaren fell victim to a drunk driver; if you didn’t already see the videos and photos, it was a tragic sight to see. Not a way you want the event to start, with a detour, the event continued, and cars made their way to the back side of the parking lot and filled in the venue.

After a while, the crowd returned to the lot and admired all the amazing rides as I continued my coverage of the event. I even saw a photoshoot taking place with an influencer. I stayed for the majority of the event, snapping as many photos of the rides as I could. Did your ride make the cut?
