Houston Coffee & Cars October 2017

With things getting back to some normalcy here, Houston Coffee & Cars hosted by Scuderia returned to it’s usual first Saturday of the month schedule at Memorial City Mall.  There was a chance of rain of happening but it was scheduled to hit after the meet was over. In any case, that didn’t deter many Houstonians from coming out and viewing the rows of rides that were there.  I arrived shortly after starting time, and like usual, many were already out here walking the parking lot with family and friends enjoying their monthly ritual.

I started on my coverage of the gathering on my usual side, up in the front of the main display area and proceeded to work my way through the parking lot snapping photos of the rides that were out here. I continued going through the main display area and ventured off into the overflow parking area of the event. This area is typically filled with more daily driven rides and not so many exotics. Still, there are some amazing rides in this section, at least for me there is as I love all types of cars. I ended up focusing a bit more on the rides not featured in the main display area this time around as I continued walking back and forth the overflow lot until the cars started to leave. With some people arriving before the sun comes up, some of them end up leaving before the official ending time.

This month, the event host held a collection in cooperation with Muller’s Monster Mash accepting new costumes, mask, caps, swords, and other costume accessories to help bring Halloween to children at the hospital. I did see a pretty good stack of items at the table when I walked by towards the begging of the event, but I didn’t return towards the end to see if the pile had grown. In any chance, it’s still great to see the car community helping out. If you haven’t come out to one of these gatherings before, you are missing out! There is a wide range of different types of rides that make it out each month, usually with a few special attendance from some rare ones as well. Don’t miss it, Houston Coffee & Cars is typically held on the first Saturday of each month from 8 am till 10 am at Memorial City Mall, but the rides start arriving much earlier than that. See you next month!
