Coffee & Cars January 2026
For their toy drive last month, I tried to get to POST Houston early, but ended up sitting in traffic right outside the parking lot for a while and got in a little after the start time. I think partly due to the construction and lane closures they had, and just the number of people. For this month’s Coffee and Cars event, I left a little earlier and got in without an issue. I parked my ride in the back and grabbed my camera to start shooting.
I was on a time crunch, as I had to leave a little after 9 for work, so I just went with my camera and a zoom lens. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done, and I tend to use it for most events anyway, so I left the rest of the gear at home. Since I was a little early, cars were still arriving and parking. I made my way to the front of the parking lot and started walking around. A few times, I had to make a trip back as cars slowly filled the gaps that had been there. I tried to keep track of which new arrivals made it in and grab a photo afterwards.
As usual, the turnout this month was amazing. Also, the weather was pretty perfect, not too cold nor too hot. Maybe a light jacket for some, especially in the shaded areas with a breeze. It was pretty sunny, though, and sometimes it cast hard shadows on neighboring rides, so not all the photos are the best. I tried to capture as many rides as I could in the limited time I had. I saw a ton of new faces with a handful of old ones. Most of the time, I am in doubt at these events, especially when on a crunch, but I did talk with a few people there.
After making my rounds in the front area, I proceeded to the entrance of the venue, where there were several rides lined up as well. I was able to snag a few photos of some of the rides on their exit if they caught my attention, but there were a lot of nice rides, so I am sure I missed some. Afterwards, I made it back to the parking lot, ventured into the overflow areas, and snapped away until I realized it was time for me to leave. Hopefully, next month I can spend more time and not have to rush as I have lately. See you then!
