Over the years, Anime Matsuri has brought the largest Anime Convention to Houston, and along with the show, a car exhibition showcasing some of Houston’s best. Spekture is partnering up once again with the Japanese culture convention to bring you Reactor, the Itasha and modified vehicle exhibition.

Your vehicles will be on display ALL THREE days of the convention.

Load In is Thursday (March 29th 7pm-10pm) and Load Out is Sunday (April 1st 4:30pm).

General Car Show rules apply – You must have less that a 1/4 tank of gas, tape gas cap close, & battery disconnected while inside the convention center.

Once approved, please pay for your entry or your spot will be forfeited.

Vehicle registration includes 1 Exhibitor Badge which gives you access to the convention for all 3 days and early access to the exhibit hall.

Anime Matsuri is an annual anime, Japanese culture, and related arts convention hosted at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

Join thousands of fans and explore over 1,800,000 sq feet of anime, panels, workshops, Special Guests, celebrities, Vendor/Exhibitor area, Artist Alley/showcase, live concerts, Japanese fashion show, cosplay contests, gaming, and over 1,000 hrs of programming — including a Japanese car show!

Vehicle Registration

Vehicle registration is open to all types of Itasha and modified vehicles, as well as rare and unique rides. Reactor will have a limited number of vehicles on display, with that we need to make sure some of the best rides are on display. We will evaluate the quality of your vehicle and then you will be notified of your approval. Please allow some time for our staff to review and make our decision.

We are currently working out details to bring some activities to the Reactor car show area of the exhibit hall including a stage with special guest panel. More details coming soon.


Special Guest Choice Awards are returning. More than 10 awards will be given out by our special guest during the show based on their favorite rides. Guest TBA.

Parking Info

The George R. Brown features a 1,600-space parking garage located at the corner of Polk Street and Avenida de las Americas. Conveniently connected to the GRB and the Hilton by Level 2 skywalks, parking couldn’t be easier.

What is a modified vehicle? Vehicles that have been customized with OEM or aftermarket parts to increase performance or visual appeal.

What is Itasha? Itasha is a Japanese term for vehicles that are decorated with fictional characters from anime, manga, or video games.

Roll in Times? Roll-in will be held on Thursday evening only from 7pm till 10pm, there is no other available time to roll-in.

Vehicle requirements? All vehicles but have battery disconnected once inside the convention center and still stay disconnect until roll out. Your vehicle must also have 1/4 tank of gas or less to be allowed in by the fire marshals.

Can I park with my team? Yes, be you have to list your team or group name in your registration form so we can designate the correct number of spots.

Whats included with vehicle registration? Included is 1 Exhibitor badge which grants you access to all 3 days of the con with early access to the exhibit halls.

Are tools provided during the show? No, you are responsible for bringing any tools required to disconnect your battery and tape for your gas cap.
