Meet Roshie, the Multi-Talented Model from Down Under

For our first international model, we couldn’t just pick any model; we decided on South African born, fire breathing dragon model who also happens to be a pilot and an actress. Meet Roshie, who is also not a one trick pony (dragon?) when it comes to modeling. As you may have guessed, Roshie sleeps, eat, and breathes fire. No, really, at least when she’s performing fire tricks. To add to the list, she also does pole dancing, aerial hoops, and Shibari (a Japanese art of rope bondage).  She is into fetishist art, so if you need a model to come out 10″ heels wrapped in leather with whips and chains, Roshie will never disappoint. To say the least, she is a striking and unique beauty that possesses many talents.

Intrigued? Well we are, so we sat down with Roshie to see if we could find out more about this smart and confident woman. Lucky enough for us, our staff photographer Blake Curtis was able to spend some time with her for a few shoots as well. We knew this would be an interesting interview, so let’s get to it.

S!: First let’s start off with how long have you been modeling?
Roshie: I’ve been modelling now for about three and a half years!

S!: How has modeling changed other aspects of your life?
Roshie: I have a slight obsession with buying high heeled shoes, and outfits made out of latex/ rubber. Apparently guys also like those things! Being able to justify those as “work expenses” definitely has its perks! 😉

S!: It’s always great when you can justify things you want as work expenses. Where has been your favorite place to shoot?
Roshie: My bedroom, I got there early, I made myself at home, and it took me no time to get back to my house!

S!: That makes it very easy, what is fun and rewarding about modeling?
Roshie: I get to play dress up, and pretend to be someone else for the day!

S!: What advice do you have for other aspiring models?
Roshie: You’ll be objectified, sexualised, and criticised, and that’s just by the people who like what you do… But if people are doing that it means that you are creating art, or at least a little controversy in a society where things often get taken too seriously.

S!: What’s your favorite thing to eat and why?
Roshie: I freakin’ LOVE mangoes! They’re so juicy and delicious. Sooo happy that it’s coming up to mango season. Seriously, I could destroy a box of mangoes.

S!: Mangoes are one of my favorite fruits as well, so I completely get you on that. Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Roshie: Shibari, The Japanese art of rope bondage… I love it! All the aspects of it, from being tied up, and the power exchange it produces. Creating beautiful imagery, to the way it feels against my skin. It’s all encapsulating. I feel grateful to have discovered something that appeals to me so much.

S!: What kind of body modifications do you have?
Roshie: I have 1 small tattoo on my wrist but very easy to cover, and 8 piercings; 5 in my ears, one in my tongue, one in my navel, and one that’s never on show 😉

S!: Do you have a favorite social media platform?
Roshie: Myspace!

S!: Interesting, I haven’t used Myspace in ages, why is it your favorite?
Roshie: Haha, just kidding 

S!: Tell us about any interesting hobbies you have.
Roshie: I like to set things on fire, and then put them in my mouth, I also like to hang upside down from things. I guess I like things that are dangerous, the rush is incomparable. When I don’t set myself on fire, or fall on my head/ neck (again) I feel like a boss!

S!: Do you like to be surprised?
Roshie: I love surprises, and by surprises I mean presents… not people jumping out from corners to ‘surprise’ someone.
