Goodguys 24th Lonestar Nationals

Hey guys! Spencer Newman here with some more car show coverage! This October I had the pleasure of attending the Goodguys 24th annual Lonestar Nationals at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. Let me tell you, if you’ve never been to a Goodguys show, you need to. This show was fucking huge, the entire speedway was packed with classic hot rods and muscle cars of all shapes, sizes, and flavors.

Goodguys is an extremely popular car show series that travels all over the US every year, and it’s stop in Fort Worth is one of the biggest events they have. This show  brings vehicles from all over the country to show and compete for some of the most coveted trophies in the hot rod and muscle car community.

This is not just a car show though, during the 3 day show there are a myriad of events and contests that are held. From a model and pedal car competition to a stretched “limo” Nascar that takes you on a high speed lap around the Texas Motor Speedway to motocross performances, there is something for everyone. They even have an indoor, air-conditioned shopping area for the wives to peruse while their husbands drool over the over 2,500 vehicles outside.

Not just any vehicle can appear at a Goodguys show though, there are rules. Goodguys is reserved for Rods, Customs, Classics, Muscle Cars and Trucks thru 1972, so anything newer than ’72 is out of the question. That’s not all, in order to register your car in a Goodguys event, you must send in pictures of it for approval. From what I saw at the show, the standards are pretty high!

If you are interested in attending a Goodguys car show next year, be sure to head over to their website to find an event near you! Check out the gallery below for full coverage of the Lonestar Nationals!
