Over the weekend, I found myself along with a fellow photographer venturing up north to Oklahoma City for a photographer event. As usual, I had to find out what car events were taking place while I was in town. I was in luck, it so happens there was one of the monthly Coffee and Cars gatherings taking place that Saturday morning. It was early enough for me to check it out and head back to continue my scheduled plans.
Coffee and Cars OKC is hosted on the first Saturday of each month at North Park Mall from 8 am till 11 am. Synergy Advisors Group, the event host, also believe in supporting the community. This isn’t just a family friendly event for people to come and enjoy various rides that are on display, but also a chance to give back to local organizations such as Heartline, Love OKC and Citizens Caring for Children.
I arrived around 8:30 am to the North Park Mall, parked my ride and grabbed my camera. It was a bit cooler than I had expected, especially more than what we currently have back in Texas, so I didn’t make it very far before turning around to grab my jacket. I made my way down the parking lot to the display area to find a pretty big turnout, bigger than I was expecting. I started my way through the lot snapping as many photos as possible. I usually try to do this at most event I go to, but I especially wanted to here since these are rides I don’t see every week. There was a bigger collection of American and classic rides than I am used to, but I enjoyed seeing the rides that were out here. I wasn’t the only one enjoying the sights, it looked like everyone out here was.
One thing that wasn’t different was people tend to leave early, around 10 am the parking lot started clearing up. I continued my rounds and even made a pass on the back strip of the mall capturing the rides that were hidden back there. By 10:30 am I was about finished with my coverage. I snapped a few photos as rides left the venue and proceeded to make my way to my ride to leave. I quite enjoyed my visit here as well as the rides on display, maybe I will return for another visit, till then stay tuned!
