2016 Audi TTS

When my friend, Kevin Cao, first posted on social media that he just purchased a 2016 Audi TTS, I knew I wanted to do an article on Spekture about it. I have always been a fan of  Audi, especially the TT and of course their flagship R8. They always have clean lines and just down right look mean. Kevin had a beautiful Audi s5 that he traded for the TTS, and although I was sad to see the s5 go, this was a hell of an upgrade.

As soon as he pulled up at the location for the photo shoot we had planned, it was hard to contain my excitement. The LED headlights, which Audi is known for in recent years, grab your attention from a distance. The front grill looks like it will chew up and spit out anything that gets in it’s way. When he pulled into the next parking spot over, I couldn’t help but give the car a walk around similar to what you would do with a car rental inspection. Every inch of the TTS is beautiful, from the 20-inch spoked wheels to the smooth leather interior. You just want to jump into the driver seat and see what that “baby” has. But i was a gentleman, and waited for him to invite me to re-position the car for the shoot.

The first thing you notice when, you hop into the driver seat is how super clean the interior is. This particular model had red and black leather pilot seats that felt like it was hugging your rib cage. All the controls were right at your hands, and the high-tech display made you feel like you were in a sci-fi vehicle. The display was fully digital, with built in navigation, and all of the other usual gauges. The car even comes with a back-up camera, which I am not used too in smaller cars such as the TTS, but it helped prevent me from backing into the concrete wall (sorry, Kevin).

As I put the car in drive to re-position it, you could tell it just wanted to go. The feel of the oddly shaped steering-wheel in your hands made you want to grip it and punch the gas. However, we were shooting at a parking garage, and there was no room for that kind of behavior, so I slowly let my foot off the brake and let the idle do the rest.

Now, I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t want to peel out of that parking garage and hit the main roads with this beautiful car. But, I had a job to do and it was to take photos of the TTS and not see how fast it takes corners or to see if it does indeed hit 0-60mph in just 4.2 seconds.

While I unfortunately did not get to see what the 292-horsepower turbocharged engine was made of, it was still great being able to photograph such a beautiful car. After this Idaho snow is gone maybe I will get the chance to see what this little car can do. If not, maybe we will set up something with his Porsche Macan GTS.
